I drafted this report for February, to be attached to the minutes. Does
this look okay - please suggest changes. Maybe Jackie could do any final
edits and forward to Ian Walker to be distributed.

Bike Winnipeg Policy Committee Report - February 2014



The Policy Committee, consisting of Jackie Collett, Amy Young, Dave
Meagher, and Jeremy Hull along with Mark Cohoe (ex officio member) held our
first meeting on Feb. 5. Jackie Collett was selected as chair.  We looked
at a format for summarizing our policies (previously suggested by Jason
Carter), and at a list of possible Bike Winnipeg policies put together last
spring by Tom McMahon and Charles Feaver. The committee decided to develop
draft policy statements for each of six major topics. Our intention is to
select one policy area, put forward a policy statement, and propose a
process for reviewing and ratifying it. This will help define the process
and once the bugs have been worked out it will serve as a model for other
policy statements. Committee members volunteered for various tasks. We
didn't see any need for a Policy Committee budget (apart from a possible
beer budget).
