Good points. Here is a revised version, taking your suggestions into account.
Thanks, Laura
After a brief hiatus, in early 2016 a reconstituted Policy Committee got to work. After determining that our focus should be on researching and formalizing position statements to support the Board's advocacy work and to guide interactions with the media and public, we developed a format for these statements and then focused on three priority areas. Position statements on general Traffic Control Measures, on Vision Zero, and on Neighbourhood Greenways were developed and approved by the Board in 2016. Once approved, these were posted on the Bike Winnipeg website so as to also be available to the members and the public. http://bikewinnipeg.ca/position-statements/#sthash.4LGBz1ab.dpbs
In late 2016 we then began work on position statements with regards to Diamond Lanes, and the always contentious Bike Helmet Legislation. Moving forward into 2017 will be work on Snow Clearance of AT Routes, One Metre Safe Passing Distance, and a city-wide Wayfinding Strategy.
Bike Winnipeg members are invited to provide input to the Policy Committee on issues that should be addressed and are also most welcome to join our committee. In interested, please contact laura at bikewinnipeg.ca<mailto:laura at bikewinnipeg.ca>.

Thanks Laura,
Nice and brief. I think it covers what we need excepting for a couple of comments.
I’m not sure that we need to list the members of the committee other that you are chair … Are you sure that Gord would want his name and association to the police listed on our very public report?
How about a link to the website where these are posted?
Thanks
Kaye

You are quite right, I never sent anything! Mea culpa. How does this sound? Please let me know if this seems acceptable.

After a brief hiatus, in early 2016 a reconstituted Policy Committee got to work. Initially composed of Laura Donatelli as chair, three members of the BW Executive Committee (Ian Walker, Kaye Grant and Bill Newman) and Dustin Dilts, the committee's membership shifted over the year. Dustin left the board, Kaye left the Policy Committee to take on other committee work, and we added an external (non-Board) member, Gord Friesen, who brought his very helpful Winnipeg Police Service perspective.

Hi Laura,
I don’t recall getting a short annual report on the policy committee for our 2016 member report. When do you think you can do this?
Thanks
Kaye
